Breastmilk for Teething Pain

You know what they say, breastmilk is liquid gold. It can be used not only for nutrition but also for medicinal relief, like when your baby has mouth pain from teething! You may have already noticed your teething baby is wanting to nurse more often, but there are other ways you can creatively use breastmilk for teething pain.

  1. Dip a small washcloth in breastmilk and freeze! Your baby can gnaw on the frozen cloth to help numb their gums while getting the benefits from breastmilk

  2. Breastmilk popsicles are another option for older babies [3-4 months depending on their ability to sit up and grasp independently]

Chamomile for Infants Teething

As mentioned, Chamomile is one of the more common natural options for teething pain relief. You can find products over the counter, or get creative with chamomile tea at home! Similar to freezing a breastmilk washcloth, you can brew chamomile tea and freeze the washcloth that way!

Teething Toys for Infants

Teething toys can be another great option to help relieve your babe’s teething pain. Gnawing and chewing can be comforting to the sore gums! We like silicone options best. Remember to keep in mind that you want your teething toy easy enough for your infant to grasp AND keep their own hands out of their mouths. Here are some examples:

  1. Easy-to-Hold Silicone Teething Toy

  2. Gifty Teething Tube with Safety Shield
